Kinesio and Dynamic Taping

What is Kinesio and Dynamic
Taping?

Kinesiology and Dynamic taping offer support and relief for muscles and joints without restricting movement, making them popular in sports and rehabilitation. Kinesiology taping helps to reduce pain and inflammation by improving circulation and supporting the body’s natural healing process. Dynamic taping procides more elastic support, allowing for greater flexibility and range of motion, which is beneficial for active individuals or athletes. Both taping methods can enhance proprioception, improving body awareness and movement control. They also offer a non-invasive, drug-free approach to managing injuries and preventing re-injury during physical activities.

Karen can tape for lymph and lymphedema conditions also.

The tape may greatly reduce brusing by distributing the blood back into the system.

She is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner. She offers a variety of Kinesio Tape products as well as Dynamic Tape.

She has special single use tape, gentle enough for babies and the elderly.

She can also tape dogs and cats for arthritis, strains, sprains, and more.

How does it work?

Dynamic Taping requires precise application, often by a trained professional, because it is used to modify movement patterns and absorb mechanical load. It is typically applied for shorter periods, especially during activity, as is provides strong support and recoil. Dynamic taping is primarily used to provide mechanical support and to absorb load, helping to offload muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It acts almost like a bungee cord, aiding in movement while reducing strain on the body. Often used in situations where strong support and load absorption are needed, such as in athletes with chronic injuries or to assist with biomechanical corrections.

Kinesio Taping can be applied more easily and is often used by individuals themselves for general support and pain relief. It can be worn for several days, even during showering or swimming, as it is more breathable and designed for prolonged wear. Kinesio taping is mainly used to facilitate lymphatic drainage, reduce pain, and support muscles without restricting movement. It is designed to lift the skin slightly, allowing for improved blood flow and reducing swelling. It is commonly used for pain relief, reducing inflammation, and supporting muscles during sports activities. It is often applied to enhance proprioception and support injured muscles and joints.
